I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, and moved to London in 2019 to complete my MFA at Goldsmiths University, and have remained in the UK since.
In late 2024, I reached a point where I realised something needed to change in my work. I wanted to make paintings that came from the deepest parts of myself rather than from the structures and habits I had gradually built around painting. I wanted to push my own capabilities to their limits and discover a body of work that felt closer to my essence.
I therefore devoted 2025 to long hours of daily studio practice, allowing myself the time and space to experiment, fail and begin again. Gradually, I began letting go of the systems that had previously guided my paintings, replacing them with a more unpredictable, active and open conversation between myself and the canvas. Rather than imposing expectations onto the work, I allowed each brushstroke to respond to the one before, trusting the painting to reveal what needed to surface.
During this period, I came to recognise that I had been developing what I now think of as an alphabet of brushstrokes: a visual vocabulary of marks built through repetition, chance and intuition. Some became integral to my practice, others were discarded, while many were archived to be revisited in the future. Each mark carries its own rhythm, pressure, duration and resistance, allowing the paintings to emerge through layering, interruption and reworking.
My current practice focuses on extending this language at a larger scale, where the body can play a more active role in the act of painting. I am interested in discovering how movement, gesture and physical presence can further expand this evolving visual vocabulary.
